CCJP

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) is the social justice and human rights arm of the Diocese of Zomba in southern Malawi.

The Zomba Diocese CCJP actively campaigns for human rights, civic education, and vulnerable populations across the region. 

Key Programs & Initiatives

• Rights of Persons with Albinism (PWAs): Leading advocacy against discrimination and segregation in areas like Traditional Authority Mwambo. They distribute bicycles to rights volunteers, provide start-up tools (like sewing machines) for vocational graduates, and fund Village Savings and Loan (VSL) groups to improve livelihoods. 
• Civil & Electoral Rights: Implements projects aimed at enhancing civic participation, protecting human rights, and encouraging peaceful engagement during electoral cycles. 
• Creation & Environmental Care: Works closely with national bodies on initiatives like the Laudato Si' campaigns to promote environmental protection and sustainable food security.
