His Excellency the State President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, says he benefits a lot from the counsel he receives from Catholic Bishops in the country.
President Chakwera was speaking at Zomba Catholic Secondary School ground at the consecration ceremony of Very Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima as Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba.
He said that the advice he gets from these men of God are richer than any other advice he can get from anyone. He added that the advice helps him to make some good decisions in different areas of his leadership.
In his speech, the newly consecrated Bishop, His Lordship Alfred Mateyu Chaima, called upon priests, the religious and the faithful in the Diocese to joint hands in proclaiming the Gospel and building a self-reliant Church.
The Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima, Cabinet Ministers and Catholic Bishops also attended the ceremony.
